POI's (Points of Interest) are a commonly used feature to help assist with managing where your vehicle are or have been. It can also be used to trigger alerts when vehicles enter or leave a POI between certain time periods. This article details the following 3 tasks, but for POI Alerts please see the Alerts article for instructions on how to set these up:

  • Creating Radius POI's
  • Creating Polygon POI's
  • View/Edit POI's

Create a Radius Based POI

A 'Radius POI' is a circular POI based on a point on the map + a selected distance when being created. To create a 'Radius POI':

Step 1.

Select the Create POI icon from the black mapping bar.

Step 2.

Select the point on the map you wish to create the 'Radius POI' for, there is a search bar in the top right corner which can assist you with searching addresses if required.

Step 3.

The POI requires a title, and the radius distance setting which is completed by dragging one of the 4 surrounding radius markers to the required length. If you have POI groups setup, you can allocate this POI to a particular group e.g. Airports.

Step 4.

Click Save POI to complete the POI.

Step 5.

It is also possible to launch the 'Create Radius POI' menu from any journey report by selecting the 'Create Radius POI' icon to the left of the location name:

Create Polygon Based POI

Step 1.

Select the Create Polygon POI icon from the black mapping bar.

Step 2.

Select the point on the map you wish to create the 'Polygon POI' for, there is a search bar in the top right corner which can assist you with searching addresses if required.

Step 3.

Left click the mouse at the points you wish to create your 'Polygon POI' until they join back to the starting point. You can then give the POI a name and allocate it to a 'POI Group' if required.

View/Edit POI's

Once you have created a POI, it will automatically appear on the vehicle list when one of your vehicles is present at the location, and all journey reports as shown below. This makes it easy to highlight vehicles in known locations.

You can also view a list of all POI's that you have created by selecting the 'Show POI List' icon on the black navigation bar:

Selecting a POI from the 'POI List' will plot it on the map as shown below. You can also Edit & Delete the POI using the icons to the right hand side of the POI. You can also create & edit your 'POI Groups' within this section.
