An intervention trigger in the Drive Smart portal is a predefined threshold that activates notifications to drivers when a certain number or type of telematics events—such as Harsh braking or harsh acceleration are recorded by the tracking units.
By default, the intervention settings are set as below on user accounts - these settings can be triggered to send different:
- Frequencies of intervention triggers
- % banding for interventions to trigger
- What modules are associated to each trigger
- Whether the trigger is to send an intervention message or not
Below is an example of the intervention settings setup for Harsh Braking, their frequencies and the associated modules that will be sent with the triggers:
The banding and number of triggers can be customised as per end user requirements for the below metrics currently:
- Harsh Cornering
- Harsh Acceleration
- Harsh Braking
- MPG / Fuel
- Idling
- Overall
