Contactless Can-Bus Reader

This is a step-by-step guide on how to fit the contactless "Canect" CAN-Bus reader.  

Step 1.

Rewire main power to CANM8 (Red Wire) to ignition supply.

Step 2.

Add CanM8 contactless CAN reader.

Step 3.

Place Green and Black connections from CONRED-5 into the main power block of CANM8.

Step 4. 

Connect twisted pair from CONRED-5 to CANM8 as per below

• CONRED-5 YELLOW LOW to CANM8 BLUE LOW
• CONRED-5 BLUE HIGH to CANM8 WHITE HIGH

Contact-less Reader Installation

Step 1.

Carefully untwist approximately 5cm of the vehicle CAN wiring at suitable location. Do not connect to any unverified CAN system – the data content may be different.

Step 2.

Remove the 2 screws from the base of the reader. Place the vehicle CAN HI wire along the reader channel marked “CAN H” so that each end of the cable resides in the cable guides at each end of the plastic housing. Do not remove the white silicone buffers, lay the wires on top of them.

Step 3.

Lace the vehicle CAN LO wire along the reader channel marked “CAN L” so that each end of the cable resides in the cable guides at each end of the plastic housing.

Step 4. 

Ensuring that both vehicle CAN wires are located accurately, carefully refit the reader base now containing the CAN cables back into the reader body and secure with the 2 screws. The reader base only fits back one way, locate the plastic key the correct way around so that it is over the top of the 4 reader cables.
