You will need trim removal tools, such as below:
Electrical insulation tape, such as below:
Step 1.
Locate the OBD port, this is typically below the steering wheel but may be behind a panel. If behind a panel, remove the cover as shown below:
Step 2.
Check the OBD port is not occupied by another device, if it is you may need to use an OBD Y-splitter or alternatively connect via 3 wire instead.
Step 3.
Select a location to mount the camera on the windscreen ensuring to not block driver visibility of the road. Mount the mounting bracket to the windscreen using the 3M sticky pad then connect the dash camera to the mounting bracket and secure with the hex screw provided.
Feed the cable through the headlining of the car until you reach the driver side pillar. Using trim tools remove the rubber door seal and any trims covering your desired cable path. Make sure to feed the power cable behind any airbags so that you do not prevent their deployment in the event of an accident.
Continue to feed the cable down until you reach the driver footwell and replace all panels and seals that you have removed.
Step 4.
Connect the dash camera to the extension cable & the extension cable to the OBD power cable. Covering the connections with electrical insulation tape.
Step 5.
Hide the cable running from the camera ensuring to secure all loose cable connections using cable ties.
Step 6.
Connect the OBD Power cable to the OBD port of the vehicle.
Step 7.
Hide any remaining cabling under the steering wheel panel, as shown below and secure with cable ties where required:
Step 8.
Ensure the camera angle is set to capture full view of the road, then insert the long screw to hold in place.
